Hello,

Often artists will release a record and then follow it up with acoustic or alternate versions of the songs. This time I chose to do it the opposite way.

When I began the process of recording The Heart, I had a lot of songs to pick from and many things to consider when picking songs. Which ones felt exciting right at that moment, which ones fit together, and which ones would sound good with very minimal production?
The process began to get slightly complicated for me because I felt that some of the songs that I really wanted to record would sound good both acoustically, and with the added sound of more instruments. I decided in my mind that I would record the songs in the way that I intended for this first acoustic/solo record, and I would then revisit them in the future.
My original vision of ‘The Heart’ was to make a record that felt like a warm, quiet, companion to people. It wasn’t meant to be an epic production that we tried to get played on the radio, nor did I have hopes that it would make a huge impact on pop culture. It was just meant to move people one at a time on their own schedule in life.

As I went out and played the record, I found myself immediately missing the band and the sound of bombastic drums and screaming guitars.
So I got a group of people together and we went to Europe to play arenas with the band A-Ha.
It became clear to me that I needed to revisit these songs as soon as I could and create the feeling that we were all experiencing on stage.
This new version of ‘The Heart X’ is exactly that. Exciting, more lush productions of these songs. I’ve also added another song that has become the quintessential Jimmy/Ours song in our eyes, “Bells”.
I hope that you enjoy this new look at these songs. I have developed a great appreciation for both versions at this point, which somehow, are very different from each other.
We look forward to playing these songs live for you, and there are many exciting things on the horizon for us that I look forward to sharing with you! I will keep you all posted.
